OUR HISTORY
OUR COMPANY

Orelian Resources was founded in 2023 by Eva Stewart and Jason Chong.

Orelian Resources (Orelian) is a wholly owned Western Australian company that was created to deliver world-class solutions in mineral exploration and mining operations.

Whist Orelian is a new entity, the management team have a proven track record in resource-rich regions through associated entities and previous organisations. We offer innovative and sustainable practices that prioritize efficiency, safety and environmental stewardship. Our integrated operations provide end-to-end solutions, ensuring seamless project delivery across all stages of the resource lifecycle.

We pride ourselves on providing up-to-date training and internal development.  Orelian currently works with some of the best Registered Training Organisations out in the market to foster and upskill our team.

Collectively, they have been instrumental in several success stories and major discoveries across Australia. Eva Stewart

Executive Chair

Eva Stewart is a proud Pinikura woman and member of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura (PKKP) group in the west Pilbara region of Western Australia. Growing up and being involved in the industry from a young age, Eva brings a passion for Aboriginal seeking opportunities, development and innovation and sustainability in the mining sector.

She holds several key directorship positions in multiple businesses and joint ventures, including her role as Co-Founder and Director of Orelian Resources Pty Ltd and as Managing Director of Australian Indigenous Group Pty Ltd - a position she has held since 2018.

In addition, she holds Management roles in several private companies servicing the mining sector, including businesses in freight and haulage, heavy diesel maintenance, mining equipment hire and farming industry.

Eva is passionate about creating opportunities for women in the industry through training, empowerment and networking. In addition to her extensive mining experience, she has also a graduate of the General Manager Program from University of New South Wales (UNSW).

Jason Chong

Managing Director

A highly experienced mining industry professional with nearly two decades of expertise spanning mineral exploration, resource definition, mining, civil earthworks and mine site rehabilitation.  His extensive background also encompasses project valuation, tendering and operational execution across a range of mining activities.

He holds several key directorship positions in multiple businesses and joint ventures, including his role as Managing Director of Orelian Resources Pty Ltd and Director of Australian Indigenous Group Pty Ltd, a position he has held since 2019. In addition, he holds Management roles in several private companies servicing the mining sector, including businesses in freight and haulage, heavy diesel maintenance and mining equipment hire.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) from the University of Western Australia, a Master of Accounting (MAcc) from Curtin University, and is currently completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New South Wales. He is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (MAusIMM), a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (FAIM) and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).

Dave Harrison

Business Development & Asset Manager

Dave is an Experienced BD and Asset Manager with over 24 years of experience in both the civil and mining industry across commodities like iron ore, gold, and other associated Minerals. His background has seen him work for both the large OEMs such as Caterpillar and Komatsu as well as the mining equipment rental companies both here in Australia and from around the World. Throughout these years he has held various senior management roles.

He has overseen and been responsible for the delivery of large-scale successful mining projects, with fleets of equipment, project and maintenance teams.

Dave’s wealth of experience and knowledge for HMEs has helped with the success of optimal fleet utilisation and enhance operational efficiencies. His strategic approach and keen understanding of market dynamics helped these companies to achieve their targets and deliver unparalleled service to their clients.

Alex Duncan-Kemp

Mining and Technical Manager

Alex Duncan-Kemp is an experienced mining engineer with over 35 years’ experience in gold, iron ore and base metal mine development and mining operations. He has also worked on public infrastructure projects in construction of roads and construction earthworks.

He has worked senior management roles in the Pilbara and Kimberley on iron ore, both haematitic and magnetite ores, the Yilgarn, Eastern and North-eastern Goldfields on gold, the Eastern Goldfields on nickel, Northwest Queensland on phosphate and the Murchison on gold and copper operations.  He has also worked at a large civil and mining contractor in both operations and project tendering areas.

He has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mining Engineering) from Curtin University’s Kalgoorlie School of Mines and is the holder of a Western Australian First Class Mine Managers’ Certificate of Competency and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (MAusIMM).
